Special Needs Team (SNT) Program

The Special Needs Team provides services for children who have a developmental/intellectual disability and who have severe behavioural issues or are medically fragile. The team provides consultation and support to families of children with complex special needs who are living at home and monitors residential placements for children who are no longer able to live at home. We serve children and youth with multiple complex needs including a chronic or severe illness, degenerative disease, severe autism, a neurological disorder or any other condition needing continued health-related support services.

It's important to note that referrals to the Special Needs Team may be made only when the needs of the child have exceeded the services the community can provide. In other words, the Special Needs Team intervenes when all other services in the community have been exhausted.
